Kentucky Intervention Team members will utilize supplied resources to assist students in a one-on-one or small group tutoring or mentoring session. The selected subjects are math and reading for K-8th grade with a specific emphasis on 3rd-5th grade. Essential functions to the position include but are not limited to: Member tracking the amount of time spent with each student, issuing the KIT Program Student Survey, and collect data from the schools selected Norm Reference Testing Assessments (I-Ready, STAR, etc.) at regularly scheduled intervals. Member will participate in service projects.

Member Duties : Tutor or mentor students as directed by the Program and/or the Host Site. Adheres to all AmeriCorps regulations and prohibitive activities as outlined by the Corporation for National Service. Adheres to all procedures outlined in district/school handbook. Demonstrates positive communication skills, both oral and written. Completes and submits all logs and reports on a timely basis as required by program. Assists in the gathering of data for various program reports concerning students served and services provided. Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of KIT, its partners, service recipients, and volunteers. Works closely with all KIT staff in order to achieve program objectives.
