Supply Planner [United States]


 

Summary Description:

The Supply Planner creates production and replenishment plans for work in process inventory and schedules and plans conversion into finished goods. In daily contact with many cross-functional partners (paper mills, customer service, internal and external production sites, logistics, warehousing, account and product management), the supply planner role is instrumental to the process of maximizing operational efficiency and product availability and minimizing operational and inventory loss to fulfill stock and custom orders. Planners work continuously to gain knowledge of our complex business (customer requirements, products, mill operations, procedures, policies and organization) and progress in functional skills. This position plays a key role in impacting profitability, operational excellence, freight costs and service to our customers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • For the assigned product categories, the supply planner owns work in process and finished good inventory production planning, availability, age, status, movements, on time delivery, master data accuracy, supplier management, service level, and purchase order accuracy & maintenance.
  • Plans work in process and finished good inventory with cost-efficient trim solutions to minimize waste and loss.
  • Quotes stock and custom product availability and configurations for customer orders daily.
  • Multi-site work in process inventory movements, management and consumption ownership.
  • Implements proactive manufacturing schedule in coordination with machine schedules and downstream WIP inventory and finished good inventory needs.
  • Schedules sheet orders using capacity plans for internal and external converting production facilities to meet warehouse stocking levels, fill customer stock orders, and custom size making orders.
  • Multi-site finished good inventory level ownership to specified re-order points.
  • Leads and participates in business projects as needed (i.e. supplier management, machine trials, product lifecycle changes, customer specific stocking programs, systems upgrades and modifications, logistics, production and warehousing initiatives).
  • Creates and distributes reporting for purchase orders, capacity planning, and inventory management. Works with supply planning team for daily updates of internal planning tools and calculators as needed.
  • Creates detailed and accurate requests for master data creation and changes for product lifecycle management (new products, updates, item changes and phase outs).

  • S&OP process understanding, education and/or experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
  • Supply Planning or Inventory Management curriculum completion, or certification(s).
